The New Republic printed a letter from William Donohue on a cartoon drawing that appeared in its November 20 edition. After noting that the cartoon showed Barbara Bush holding George W. in the pose of Michelangelo’s Pieta, he commented: “Now it is obvious that you could have made your point without insulting Christians. What’s not so obvious is why you chose to do anyway.”
