If anyone has any doubt about just how radical New York City Zohran Mamdani is, consider the following list of people whom he has embraced.

Darializa Avila Chevalier

Chevalier is the Democratic nominee for New York’s 13th Congressional. Thanks to Mamdani’s endorsement, she was able to defeat Representative Adriano Espaillat.

  • In 2019, Chevalier wrote “seize the means of production” in a social media post.
  • In 2020, Chevalier posted online that most of her political philosophy she read was communist but “the pyromania associated with anarchism is very intriguing to me.”
  • In another 2020 post, Chevalier took umbrage with the phrase “defund the police” stating “F*** you. We’re gonna defund and abolish. You don’t get to water down our movement.”
  • In another post, Chevalier rejected that abolishing the police meant only ending policing “as we know it.” Instead, she posited that “it means ending the police full stop. Period. No more police ever.”
  • Chevalier argued that “A world without borders—just like a world without prisons or police—is possible, necessary, and the only moral way forward.”
  • Chevalier lambasted black and Arab men for “fetishizing ugly colonizer women.”
  • Chevalier founded the Columbia University Apartheid Divest organization, a group that is “fighting for the total eradication of Western civilization.”
  • Chevalier boasted that “I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me.”
  • Chevalier called American military veterans “child murderers” guilty of “war crimes.”
  • Chevalier proclaimed America to be “a f****** disgrace.”

Claire Valdez

Currently serving in the New York State Assembly, with Mamdani’s endorsement, Valdez secured the Democratic nomination for the New York 7th Congressional District.

  • Valdez describes herself as a “union organizer and a proud democratic socialist.”
  • Valdez supports “unions for all,” forcing workers to give part of their paychecks to union bosses.
  • Valdez has argued for nationalizing the airline industry.
  • Valdez campaigned on the slogan “housing for all.”
  • Valdez supports “Medicare for all,” effectively nationalizing healthcare.
  • Valdez has called for the abolishment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
  • Valdez received the endorsement of the anti-American streamer turned activist Hassan Piker, who described Valdez as one of the “brilliant fighters” championing a socialist revolution in America.
  • Valdez has accused America of being “an empire” complicit in “genocide and apartheid.”

Brad Lander

Lander secured the Democratic nomination for New York’s 10th Congressional District thanks to Mamdani’s endorsement.

  • On the campaign trail, Lander described his brand of democratic socialism as focusing on core progressive values.
  • Lander supports nationalizing healthcare through “Medicare for all.”
  • Lander endorsed “universal child care.”
  • Lander is a proponent of expanding public housing and supports a national rent control program.
  • Lander wants to abolish ICE.
  • Lander favors taking funds away from the police and investing in “non-police crisis intervention” teams.

Aber Kawas

Kawas won the Democratic primary for a New York State Senate seat thanks to Mamdani’s endorsement.

  • In a 2017 podcast, Kawas said, “The system of capitalism and racism and White supremacy… and Islamophobia have all been used to colonize lands, to take resources from other people and so this is a long trajectory, and we’re just seeing the manifestations of that continuation with 9/11.”
  • Kawas went on to say, “The idea we have to apologize for a terror attack that a couple of people did and then there is no apology or reparations for genocides and for slavery, et cetera, is something I find reprehensible.”
  • In a 2025 interview, Kawas promotes the idea that Muslims were the real victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks by arguing that “I’ve always been outspoken about the wrongful scapegoating of Muslim Americans, both before and after 9/11.”
  • Kawas reportedly has been affiliated with the Council of American Islamic Relations, which has been designated as a terrorist group.
  • Kawas’ father overstayed a tourist visa in 1989 and went on to be convicted of real estate fraud. He was subsequently deported after a stint in prison for his crimes. However, the facts of the case have not prevented her from making her father’s legal troubles an important pillar of her campaign claiming it is the saga of a poor immigrant facing persecution.

Cea Weaver

Weaver currently serves as the Director of the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants.

  • Weaver urged supporters to “elect more communists.”
  • Weaver once wrote that “private property including any kind of especially homeownership is a weapon of white supremacy masquerading as ‘wealth building’ public policy.”
  • Weaver said, “We’ll transition from treating property as an individual good to a collective good—whites especially will be impacted.”
  • Weaver posted online that she wanted to “impoverish the *white* middle class.”

Afua Atta-Mensah

Atta-Mensah currently serves in the Mayor’s Office of Equity and Racial Justice as the Chief Equity Officer.

  • Atta-Mensah endorsed the idea that there is “NO moderate way to black liberation.”
  • Atta-Mensah wrote “Tax Them To The White Meat!!!”

Ramzi Kassem

Kassem currently serves as Mamdani’s Chief Counsel.

  • Kassem provided the legal defense for an Al Qaeda terrorist.

These are the people Mamdani wants to run New York City. It is a lineup of lunatics, and if they get their way they will destroy the city.
